Set Up Your Fundraising Page
Be a Successful Fundraiser: Steps, Tips & Tricks
Step 1: Set Your Fundraising Goal
Make your fundraising goal challenging. Don’t stay too comfortable, but don't make your goal impossible, choose a goal that will test your limits.
Step 2: Write Your Campaign Story
Write your personal campaign story. Motivate friends and family to donate by conveying why you are passionate about our cause, why you got involved and how you may have been involved in the past. Why are you drawn to fundraise for Willpowered Woman and why is it important to you? People will like to hear your personal story that is related to the cause. If you need help with your story, read it to friends or family and ask them for feedback.
Step 3: Add Media
Pages with visuals are much more appealing. Add photos and videos that illustrate your connection to the cause. Videos are especially powerful and it's pretty easy to create on your phone or computer. Photos and videos can be embedded in your story.
Step 4: Share
Create a list of your network (e.g.: friends and family), reach out to them and ask if they would like to sponsor you. Be sure to mention the following important information: your fundraising goal, the deadline and mention that any donation, large or small makes a huge difference. Promote your fundraising page via social media and email. If people get back to you and say they can't donate, respond and say thank you so much for considering donating to the cause. You could even throw a small kick off party for your fundraising campaign.
Step 5: Keep it Up
Send follow-up emails to your network reminding them about why the cause is important to you, your fundraising goal and the deadline. Keep track of who has and hasn't donated and come up with creative ways to engage those who are yet to support your fundraising campaign. Stories are usually the most engaging way to do this. So come up with a few different stories you can share that tie into why you have started a fundraising campaign.
Step 6: Say Thank You
When each person donates, send a personalized thank you email or even give them a call to say thank you. People always appreciate being recognized for their contribution, no matter how small.
